But that might probably be changing soon as Google is planning to make YouTube more than just an online video platform that we have always known it to be.

5 Things You Shouldn’t Do With Your Android Device

We use our smartphones for many things in our professional and private lives. Therefore, we should try to ensure they last as long as possible. Many take precautions like installing anti-virus software and closing background apps, but are these steps really necessary? Here are five things you’re doing wrong with your Android device.

1. Using task killers or manually closing applications
Many of us use task killers or close applications manually from the recent apps menu. But without realizing it that could be harming the performance of our device.
When we first open an app, part of its data is becomes stored in the RAM. This means that when you open the app a second time, it will load faster because of the existence of this previously cached data.

If you remove the app from the recent apps menu, or delete the cache, the data stored in the RAM is lost also. If you then wish to reopen it you have to start this process again.

Only close applications if you must, for instance, if they are draining a lot of battery or occupying too many resources while in the background.

2. Using more than one antivirus app
If you feel that you need an antivirus program on your Android device then you should bear in mind that they take up resources like RAM and battery: these are intensive applications that run in the background all the time. But having more than one doesn’t make you safer. If you decide to use an antivirus app then make sure you choose wisely among the many available and only use one at a time.

3. Ignoring software updates
The operating system of your smartphone needs to be updated periodically to repair deficiencies in security. As soon as you notice an update, accept it. You can even set up your Android device to update automatically. The security of your phone will thank you. It will perform better and be more efficient.

4. Downloading applications from unreliable sources
Android APK files can be manipulated to contain malicious software which can infect your device. Make sure all your downloads come from reliable sources such as the Google Play Store.

5. Not restarting your smartphone
There is a lot of controversy surrounding this topic. However, rebooting your device once a week is ‘healthy’. On the one hand, memory is saved and temporarily cached data is deleted because it is no longer needed. On the other hand, sometimes memory is blocked and that temporary data is not deleted, which can lead to slowdowns.

Things you should do right now to conserve your data.

Worry less about exceeding your data limit by following these five simple tips for Android users:

1. Reduce the data used by your Android mobile device or computer by turning on Chrome Data Saver Mode. From compressing web pages to removing images when loading a page on a slow connection, you’re able to save up to 70% more data.

2. Offline YouTube videos and watch them as often as you like without using data or buffering each time with YouTube Offline.

3. Whether it’s your neighborhood or a weekend getaway destination, there’s a way to use Google Maps without using any data. Download an area of the world and seamlessly use Maps features like turn-by-turn navigation and access useful location information without a network connection using Google Maps Offline.

4. Identify and remove data intensive apps by going to Settings > Data Usage on your Android device. You may be surprised to see data being used by apps you hardly touch!

5. Disable auto-updating apps on your Android device by opening Google Play and tapping the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) on the top left of the screen. Go to Settings > tap Auto-update apps > select Do not auto-update apps or Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi.

5 Tips To Stop Anyone From Hacking Your WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram Accounts

Hackers have increased their rampage these days and are causing people many worries.

But you can be safe by following these tips.

One normally starts thinking about security only when it gets compromised. But the services you normally use put in a lot of effort to keep you and your data secure. Here’s a quick rundown of the steps you need to follow to secure your online presence.

1. Whatsapp
WhatsApp already uses end-to-end encryption to secure your chats — no one, not even WhatsApp staff members can read your chats if encryption is on (which it is by default). But a common scenario is losing your phone. Before you realise the loss, a thief will have full access to your WhatsApp account which may include photosvideos, personal information and messages. The thief may also impersonate you to extract money from your contacts. To prevent this, lock WhatsApp with a PIN — you will need third-party apps to do this.
In case of theft of phone with an unlocked WhatsApp account, get a new SIM immediately and use it to register with WhatsApp on another device — this will instantly deactivate WhatsApp and the other phone.

2. Instagram
You might not want everyone in the world to see and comment on your Instagram photos.
A simple way to enable this is by making your Instagram account private — this means that only those who follow you can see your photos and new followers will require approval from you. The other security feature you should activate is Manual Photo Tagging. Go to the Instagram profile section and tap on the Photo of You (last icon below your bio) — tap on the menu button on top right and select tagging options. Here you can enable `Add Manually’ — this will prevent you from being tagged in unwanted photos. You have given third-party apps access to your Instagram account. To manage these apps, you will need to login to Instagram on a computer and select ‘Edit Profile’. In the settings page that opens up, you will see Manage Applications section where you can revoke access for unwanted apps.

3. Facebook
Facebook also offers login verification and alerts but there are a bunch of additional options — for instance, you can set trusted contacts (who can help you get access to your account if you get locked out) and you can see which browsers and apps you’re signed in from.
One very useful feature you’ll find in the Security Settings page is ‘where you’ve logged in’. Let’s say you went to a friends place and logged in to Facebook on hisher computer, but forgot to log out when you left.
You can use this option to sign out from any devices — just click the link that says ‘End Activity’. If you head to the help page, Facebook also offers a handy wizard-style Security Checkup that will show you old logins, let you sign out with one click, review your alerts and give you password tips.

4. Twitter
Apart from changing your password often, one of the easiest things you can do to secure your Twitter account is to use login verification.
Once you sign in to Twitter on a computer, from your profile icon drop down menu, click Settings and then Security & Privacy Settings.
Before you can use login verification, you will need to confirm your email ID.
You can use the iOS or Android app to complete the process. Once in a while, also head to Twitter’s settings page and click Apps — here, you can check which apps and devices have access to your account.
Some may be from a couple of years ago on older devices — you should revoke access to the ones you no longer use or recognise.

Whatsapp Will No Longer Work On These Phones [See List]

Read statement below:-
As announced in our blog, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. At the end of 2016, we will no longer support the

following platforms:
-BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10
-Nokia S40
-Nokia Symbian S60
-Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
-Windows Phone 7.1
-iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
These platforms don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android running OS 2.3+, a Windows Phone 8+, or an iPhone running iOS 7+ before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.

Once you have one of these devices, simply install WhatsApp and verify your phone number on the new device to continue using WhatsApp. Keep in mind that WhatsApp can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time.

There is currently no option to transfer your chat history between platforms. However, we provide the option to send your chat history attached to an email.
Learn how to export your chat history on: Android | iPhone | Windows Phone | Nokia S40 | BlackBerry | Nokia S60 | BlackBerry 10

Steps on How You Can Access WhatsApp On Your Laptop/Computer

If you’re busy at work and you feel like chatting with somebody on WhatsApp, you can do that on your computer with the aid of an app designed for that purpose.

The web is compatible with WhatsApp mobile apps on Android, iOS, Windows Phone,
Blackberry and Nokia’s S60 or S40 phones. Your phone also needs to have a rear-facing camera and WhatsApp has to be turned on.

To do this, your computer must have
a recent version of Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Safari. Note that WhatsApp Web does not support the old Internet Explorer or new Microsoft Edge.

Connecting your phone to computer
On your computer, visit < http://web.whatsapp.com/>. (Bookmark the address if you’re going to use it often.) A bar code will appear with instruction to scan the code with your phone WhatsApp.

Now, switch back to your phone. You’ll need to open the WhatsApp Web function. Here are the procedures for the various mobile operating systems, starting from the main WhatsApp screen:
Android: Tap the Menu button, then tap “WhatsApp Web.”
iOS: Tap the Settings tab, then tap “WhatsApp Web.”

Windows Phone: Tap the Menu button, then tap “WhatsApp Web.”
Blackberry 9 or older: Tap “Chats,” then “Menu,” then “WhatsApp Web.”
Blackberry 10: Swipe down from the top of the main screen and tap “WhatsApp Web.”
Nokia S60: Tap the menu button, then tap “WhatsApp Web.”
Nokia S40: Swipe up from the bottom of the main screen and tap “WhatsApp Web.”
Your app will then open a screen with a camera window. Point your phone’s camera on your computer screen and align it so that the QR code is centred on the window.

Within a second or two, the web app will authenticate, and your account and contacts will appear on the primary WhatsApp Web screen.

If you click the “keep me signed in” option on the login page, you should be able to close and open the web interface for as long as your desktop browser session is active and as long as the mobile app stays active on your phone. If you’re logged out, just repeat the steps above.

Using WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp Web works more or less the same way that it does on your phone. The primary screen shows a list of all the chats you’re currently engaged in on your phone (or any other devices).
To start a new chat, click the text message icon in the left column and either click one of the contact names or start typing in the “Search Contacts” field. Your chat itself will appear in the right-hand side, and you can switch between any of them at any time.

Any message you send will be sent immediately to your contact’s phone, or any other device they happen to be using (including WhatsApp Web).

To start a new group chat, click the menu button (three vertical dots) and then “new group chat.” To log out of WhatsApp Web, click the menu button then “log out”.
Enable browser notifications
If you will like to see new text messages come in even when you don’t have the WhatsApp Web tab or window active, you can enable browser notifications. These will appear as small alerts in the corner of your screen. When you first open WhatsApp Web, you should see a message in blue just beneath your profile photo with the words “Get notified of new notifications.” Click the link below and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

If you want to disable or re-enable desktop notifications, click the menu button in the WhatsApp Web interface, then click “Notifications.”

Setps on how to write video script

HOW TO WRITE A SOLID VIDEO SCRITP
Step 1:

Start concepting with a brief.
A brief? Really? Yes -- really. Although it might seem like this is an easy step to skip, it’s not worth it.

Creating a brief allows you and your team to document the answers to really important project questions so everyone involved in creating the video can get on the same page. And that’s ideal, because you know what’s the worst? When you’re three-quarters of the way through the editing process and your boss or colleague wants to completely redo that whole shot where you demonstrate how your gizmo solves global warming.

When pesky predicaments like this one try to stand in the way of progress, you can just refer back to that questionnaire containing the goals and project plan your team mapped out together, and say, “No way, José. That’s not what we agreed to.”

And boom. You can move on.
Focus on your goals, topic, and takeaways when developing your brief.

A brief doesn't have to be fancy, nor does it have to follow a specific formula, but there are several key questions every questionnaire should include to craft an effective video script.

What’s the goal of this video? Why are we making the video in the first place?

Who are we making this video for?

What’s our narrow video topic? (The more specific, the better. For example, if you’re in the house painting business, you might choose a topic like “buying the right paint brush”).

What are the takeaways of the video? What should viewers learn from watching it?

What’s our call-to-action? What do we want viewers to do after they’ve finished watching the video?
You can easily create a brief in Microsoft Word or a Google Doc to serve as a living, breathing template that you revise over time.

Different video projects may require your team to think through different things before you get scripting and shooting, so you may find that you add or subtract certain questions to your brief as you become more experienced with video creation.

Step 2:
Write your script.
Once you’ve picked a topic, it's time to write that script.
Just like the brief, the video script doesn’t have to be fancy. You’re not trying to submit this script for any awards or hang it in the hallway. It’s purpose is strictly functional. A good script makes it easy for the people on camera to get their message across while sounding and acting natural.
Write in plain, conversational English
.
Writing a script is not the same as writing a college paper or marketing research report. You want to write the script how you want the video subject to speak. On camera, saying, “I’m gonna create a video after reading this blog post” will read much better than “I am going to create a video after reading this blog post.”
Make it thorough.

A script doesn’t just include dialogue. If your video will require multiple shots, characters, or scenes, include these details. Be sure to include any necessary information about the set or stage actions, such as a wardrobe change.

Basically, you want the script to be thorough enough that you could hand it off to someone else to shoot.

Differentiate the main narrative from B-Roll, text overlays, and voiceover using different formatting or callouts.

If your video will transition from a the subject speaking the primary narrative to a close up shot of your product with a text overlay, you’ll want to call that out in your script so anyone who reads it knows what’s supposed to be read on screen versus incorporated in the editing process.

Oh, and one last tip ...
When it’s time to shoot, use a laptop and a chair as a teleprompter.

Just as you don’t need a fancy script, you don’t need a fancy teleprompter to remember your lines. But you do need help remembering your lines. You can actually just use two things you already have -- a chair and a laptop -- to keep your lines handy as you’re shooting.

6 Proven Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Webs

It is not unusual for the owner of a company, large or small, to own a website to promote their business, and there are many bloggers out there struggling to vamp up their site’s ranking.

But many do not know how to attract users to their pages.

To find out what are the best strategies to increase traffic to a website, I did a little research, I came up with 6 main ways to drive traffic to your site.

1. THE EMAIL.
Although its use has declined in recent years compared to the past decade, the email continues to attract traffic known to be relevant depending on the category of the business and the public to whom it is addressed.

2. SOCIAL NETWORKS.
A medium that has gained more followers over the years is social networking. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, amongst others; They are very important in attracting users. However, the public should be studied to determine which network to participate in. Also, it is essential to take into account that the message handled varies with each medium. So, if you want to promote a salad on Twitter, you can focus the message on the experience; “Enjoying this delicious salad!” might be a good tweet to attract potential customers. The format of Facebook can be exploited to have fun, and post colorful pictures with a message inviting potential customers to try. While in LinkedIn, a post like “The principles for labor productivity, increase your eating salad” would be perfect to attract users.
Because of its versatility, social networks are the ideal place to quickly communicate with customers so their use is not limited to advertising, but also to handle other issues such as response to customers complaints . However, we have to be very careful. To avoid making mistakes, you should: listen to what the customer says, figure out what went wrong, explain who is taking care of the problem and give an estimated response time. The worst thing you can do is not respond and most importantly, take into account the type of client that is managed and without using abusing language or jokes cheerfully. Remember, the better your reputation online, the more likely it is that users come to your website.

3. CAMPAIGNS.
On the other hand, it can also increase traffic through campaigns, both in line and off line. The important thing in these cases is always attached a url that will allow some traffic labeled. In many offline campaigns try to often use QR code, allowing potential customers to simply scan images and are automatically taken to your website.

4. REFERENCES
Another way to generate traffic is to get referrals from other sites, like when someone writes about your services in his blog or products including a link to your site. This is also a form of advertising and its important to take it.

5. LIVE TRAFFIC
One of the simplest ways is web traffic is generated by direct traffic. Mostly, the user just types the URL of your page in your web browser.

6. PAID TRAFFIC
As we all know, paid traffic is when you pay money to very popular websites like google, yahoo and Facebook advertise your website on a pay-per-click basis. Sure, this method brings in large traffic and conversions on your website. But as a company you need to know how spend money on this wisely. To learn how to spend on paid traffic, wisely, click here
I have only mentioned my list of 6 sure ways to generate traffic for your website……but here’s a bonus……
ORGANIC TRAFFIC
This is arguably perhaps the most important method of all. This is achieved through a good job of positioning your website in search engines like Google. To do so is key to learn this is to really understand “Search engine optimization” (SEO). Strategically placing specific keywords in particular patterns as used in your content so as to increase your search engine ranking and this draws traffic to your website without you breaking a bank.. ...

5 Reasons You're Not Making It As A Blogger Yet, view it and see why

Blogging has become a major source of income to many, thanks to the evolution of social media and the successful bloggers from whom many have become enticed.

While a lot do it for the money, many are towing the wrong path, expecting to get the right results, which is an aberration.

Without further ado, lets get into why you are where you are as a blogger.

Fellow this step below
1. You are in the wrong Niche
If you are not in a niche where you are having fun, there is a high possibility you would fail (sorry to say).

If you came into blogging because of one famous entertainment blogger, consequently you named your blog “naijathisandnaijathat”, with time, you’ll realize you are not enjoying yourself if you've got no passion for entertainment blogging.

Blogging is lucrative when you enjoy doing it, this way, you’ll be creative to generate ideas that would yield profit.

All you need to do, is to find something you love doing. No niche is bad. Some might look more profitable than others but if you are enjoying it,you’ll get people to like you and in no time, you’ll have made yourself an authority and a trail blazer.

Your niche should be one you can easily perform even when you are half asleep. When you find that area, never let it go.

2. You lack resources
I hear some people say they don’t have a laptop to blog with, they don’t have a modem with which to connect, they lack finance to subscribe etc…
With these excuses, how do you want to outshine one who is always online?
I wanted to give a guy a job to work for my client, since I won’t be available. To my surprise, he asked me to tell my client to pay him upfront so as to enable him buy data. I found that ridiculous but I still cared and wanted to help. So, I obliged but my client refused and we ultimately gave it to somebody else.

How do you handle running out of data and abandon your blog for another 3 weeks because you do not have data. If you need a laptop, smart phone or any tool to help you blog right, do get it.

HOW?
Get a job.
It's more effective blogging if you have a job that funds your blog before you start making the profits’.

3. Zero, Poor or Wrong Publicity Method
If you blog and don’t publicize, then I wonder who would read your posts.
Entertainment bloggers tend to spam Facebook groups, but that’s not easy or adviceable for niche bloggers because the traffic won’t be targeted.
So publicity is very pertinent, but the method of publicity is very crucial too because you need to take your contents to a market were it’s needed. Imagine publicizing an agric blog to a mobile phone and tech community. You’d lose cash, waste precious time and be frustrated ultimately.
SOLUTION: Identify the particular market where your content is needed; don’t just start an ad because your friends are doing it, understand the need of your readers and meet it.

4. You’re following the crowd
If you came into blogging because of someone who made a lot of money, you are likely to do this because you will follow his rules and his rules alone.
However, the very first rule of blogging is that “Blogging has no rule”. Stop following peoples template and find what works for you. Your style should be your style.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t adopt people’s style, but you should make sure they are working for you, once they don’t, forget them, there is no rule to blogging.

Develop your style and don’t religiously follow their style because again there is no law.

5. You are not rendering services
I have said this time and again; I’ve made more money rendering blog services than I have from ads.
I get paid from what firms would call consultation (I don’t call it that yet) people contact me and ask me to tell them how I do things, I get paid designing blogs, adding some codes to templates, domain registering and setting up, and many other services and these requests come in so frequently that they give me tough time updating my own blog.

If you are not rendering services then you are losing a lot. Create a page on your blog telling your readers services you render and, post on twitter and on your Facebook wall services you can render and you will start getting requests in no time.

It can be anything, you can offer to update blogs for people ( 15 posts at $50 for 5 blogs would give you $250) and that is cool money for a start, and the interesting part is that you can use the same content(if it is an entertainment blog) for your own blog with only little or no changes.

You can do a lot of things, just be creative and see the cash start trickling in. To Your Success.

CSS TRICKS

Whilst taking a shot at a customer's site as of late, I was requested that recreate an impact this way.
Holders with foundation pictures which zoom inside their compartment on float, uncovering more data.
This kind of impact is prominently utilized as a part of portfolio-sort circumstances where the configuration plans to indicate both visual and instructive points of interest.
#There are a wide range of conceivable techniques
As I had never made an impact this way, I started to investigate diverse methods for doing this and ran over various distinctive strategies.
One alternative was to utilize a jQuery Module. This one wasn't exactly the impact I was after, and unquestionably not exceptionally lightweight.
Another alternative was to position a <img> inside the holder and control it with CSS. There could be some potential advantages here, such as having the capacity to set the source with srcset so that the picture utilized is execution and gadget fitting.
In my circumstance, I needed to deal with the impact altogether in CSS, so I went for that.
#Basic usefulness
So as to accomplish ideal execution, I chose to utilize the CSS change property to handle the augmentation of the picture. (CSS activitys advantage from equipment speeding up and thus seem smoother than different strategies for vitalizing.)
Instead of a <img>, I utilized an extra <div> inside the guardian to go about as the picture. The structure being:
<div class="parent">
<div class="child"></div>
</div>
In the first place we indicate the measurements for the guardian component. At that point the tyke can fill the guardian utilizing width: 100% and tallness: 100%;, and in addition set the foundation picture, guaranteeing it scales to cover the zone.
.guardian {
width: 400px;
tallness: 300px;
}
.youngster {
width: 100%;
tallness: 100%;
foundation shading: dark;/* fallback shading */
foundation picture: url("images/city.jpg");
foundation position: focus;
foundation size: spread;
}
We then add float impacts to our guardian component which will influence our youngster component. A center style is useful for openness also:
.parent:hover .tyke,
.parent:focus .tyke {
change: scale(1.2);
}
You might need to utilize a device for including prefixes for the most ideal program support.
To complete up the fundamental impact, we can add a few moves to our tyke component's ordinary state:
move: all .5s;
On the off chance that you need to include a shading overlay, you can make utilization of pseudo components like ::some time recently:
.child::before {
content: "";
show: none;
stature: 100%;
width: 100%;
position: supreme;
main: 0;
left: 0;
foundation shading: rgba(52, 73, 94, 0.75);
}
.parent:hover .child:before,
.parent:focus .child:before {
show: square;
}
Presently when we drift on the guardian component, the tyke component ought to demonstrate a shading overlay!
At last, we'll cover how to include some content to demonstrate our overlay. We can add a component to our present kid component like so:
<div class="parent">
<div class="child">
<span>Hello</span>
</div>
</div>
We can give our <span> some style:
range {
shading: white;/* Good thing we set a fallback shading! */
textual style family: sans-serif;
cushioning: 25%;
position: supreme;
}
what's more, we can make it noticeable just when we float on the .guardian:
.parent:hover range,
.parent:focus range {
show: piece;
}
#Live Demo
See the Pen Picture zoom on float - portfolio sites by Dylan (@dwinnbrown) on CodePen.
#Mobile Support
In the event that the compartments are connections and the float states don't uncover any crucial data, you may very well allow it to sit unbothered.
On the off chance that the drift states are vital, with the goal this should deal with touch screens, we can utilize unfilled onclick="" handlers on our .guardian compartments. Shockingly I couldn't go over another method for doing this however in the event that any of you do, let me know in the remarks!
